Shiden Kai Worn Down

After about 8 months of use the left side of my Shiden Kai is a lot rougher than the right side which I rarely use. Anybody else's Shiden Kai wear down so quickly? And could washing it with soap make it smooth again?

Do you find dirt being built up in the rough area?

It's hard to tell, there is an area about the size of my mouse that I probably use the most which is now glossier than the rest of the pad.

Sounds like you have worn off the coating a bit instead of it being dirty... If you scratch it a bit with your nail (gently), does it seem like you can get some dirts out? how about the feel when you touch it with finger? Is it smoother than other area or less so?

If it is worn out, then of course it does not help by washing it redface.gif

I can't scratch any dirt off, and with my finger the whole pad feels pretty similar, but when I use my mouse the left is a lot rougher.

Strange haha. I have a shiden-kai myself but have not worn it out enough (use it rarely) to tell. Instead of washing it, how about wiping it with a wet towel? My guess is that it has been worn out so it might not help...

But then shiden-kai is not known to be a durable mousepad, so I'm not surprised...
