Can't uninstall it without formatting. Back-up stuff you want to keep and format the drive.

If you don't have a backup drive then shrink the Windows 8 partition. Make a new partition. Move the data you want to keep off of it onto the new
partition. (You may have to continually shrink and expand partitions as you go.) then delete the Windows 8 partition once the data is backed up.

You really should have a backup drive for your data. that would allow you to just quickly wipe the drive and copy your data back over quickly.

I have, it just takes too long to transfer... Arfgh

Wondering if I could take over control to delete the Windows files?

Boot up windows 7 and delete all folders and files that aren't yours on the Windows 8 partition. You may need this: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/add-take-ownership-to-explorer-right-click-menu-in-vista/

Make sure you show all hidden files and folders when you do it too.

go to run > type "netplwiz" > click your user name > properties > group membership > admin.

then apply and restart and try again.

If that doesn't work you will have to backup and format. Or move the data to another partition and then delete the old OS partition.
