Thread Starter
Putting together a spare computer from extra parts and only need a PSU.

Components are

AMD 965 @ 4.0 (Probably going to lower to stock)

8 gb of ram

some old 300 gb HDD

GT 640

Biostar TA990FXE AM3+

CD drive

3- 200 mm fans, 1 120 exhaust and 2 for cpu cooler

Old Rasa 240 kit.(Probaby just going to use my old 212+)

Any idea of a good PSU ill need for that?

This Rosewill Capstone 450
or this MK-III silencer 400 would be more than enough....

Both are from this list:

No. That would be way too much.

A quality 300W or above is sufficient.

Edit: The Capstone 450 recommended above is a great PSU. I have one myself.

With a gt640?
A good 250 or 300 can take that any day.
A 300W would be more than adequate.

Any decent 500W will run that easily.

While it is true that even a 300W would run that, I would still buy a 500. There is no need to buy a new PSU for every upgrade you make
post #10 of 10
decent 450w PSU will do just fine.
