Thread Starter
Im trying to figure out if it is worth upgrading my system with around 200$ I have sitting here.

This is on my sig rig.

New video card?
Maybe new mobo to shut off turbo (Faster overclock?) and faster ram.
OR just a SSD

I dont know what i should do so many options.

You name it i use it for it. Autocad 2013, and games mostly. But also use it as a htpc and web surfing.

There is just so many possibilities these days i am getting myself confused.

If you play games more then a few hours a week then i say you sould get a video card if you do not play more then a few hours a week i would say get a SSD
The best bang for buck Nvidia card is the GTX 660 Ti but it is 300$
I dont relly know much about the lower end cards

That old 250GB mechy is undoubtedly the systems most noticeable bottleneck in day to day stuff.

Move all your stuff over on to this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820167127&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=
Then configure the mechy drive as a backup drive.

That leaves you with enough to max out your RAM: http://us.ncix.com/products/?sku=38282&vpn=TWIN2X4096-6400C5C&manufacture=Corsair&promoid=1373

I'd suggest staying on your motherboard and CPU for awhile longer. The next logical upgrade is the GPU IMO, if for no other reason than to get your power consumption down to a reasonable level.

The IMC on phenom II is really designed around DDR2 bandwidth anyway, it doesn't tap into the available bandwidth on DDR3 so swapping to an AM3 board at this time does not make sense to me.

Has there really been any issues with using a SSD all the time for read/writing? I know when they first came out ppl were only installing OS systems on them. Or something that didn't change constantly.

SSDs still have limited writes, but not really enough where I would worry about it, the number of writes should still last many, many years.

They are just great for OS/programs because of the reads more than anything.

This is exactly what I did thank you. And time to save for a 660 Ti now.

The power draw of my gpus is crazy. The heat it creates is even more amazing. I dont have A/c in the house so in the summer i dont even turn the computer on (if its above 95 degrees F) b/c it overheats and blue screens. Even with the 5 case fans on high.

And the heats not from the cpu it doesnt get near overheating. The gpu's on the other hand get very hot when gaming.
