Well, that picture is the before I took my tools to it smile.gif

At the moment I have made a hole where the PSU is to allow cables to flow through and some other adjustments!

I'm new to this modding thing and have a slight case of OCD when it comes to cable management! smile.gif

As you can see we were trying to figure out which way it was supposed to go - finally I discovered that it was supposed to go on the BACK of the motherboard - hopefully you have a case, like the R4, that has an opening for the CPU - if not, then you'll have to put the backplate on before putting the motherboard in (which might be a pain) - I should also mention there are two type of plastic backplates, and one is for Intel (LGA 1155/1156, 1366, 775) and the other for AMD (AM2/AM3)

So, now you have your backplate. Get the two plastic sticky parts, and apply them to the back of the plastic backplate. After doing that, you'll be able to see and use the 4 metal looking nuts. These metal nuts, go into the respective holes - ie. If you have a Socket 1155 in my case.
Put in the metal nuts by simply pushing them into the respective holes, and you'll have an odd looking configuration.
Once I placed it on my motherboard I was surprised (although this is normal) that the backplate doesn't look right on the back of the motherboard. By that I mean, it will look slanted. Now this depends on your socket, but in my case, it was slanted, as you'll be able to see in the pictures.

So.... I have to reply and I'm surprised nobody else pointed this out to you. The back mounting plate, the way you mounted it, is all wrong. The reason it is crooked is because you have the silver inserts in the wrong holes. If you look closely there is writing on the plastic of where you should insert it for a 1156, etc. You only got 2 out of 4 in the right hole. The upper left insert and the bottom right insert in the first photo are in the right place. The other 2 are in the wrong hole, which is why you had to mount it crooked to get it lined up. thumb.gif

^check the cooler itself and check its mounts.
They are correct.
1155/6 mounts like that.

And that's the holes that were there for my motherboard.
EDIT:
Even when you look at the pictures CLOSELY you'll see the 1155/6 written by it...there's no other way to mount it - it isn't like the AMD plate where it mounts straight thumb.gif

Hi,
First of all:
thanks a lot for that great guide. Without it it would be a real "pain in the Ass" to build this cooler in. I watched it yesterday and than it wasn`t a big deal to get it in.
Again: Thanks a lot:thumb:
This manual by Antec is useless. Except for one thing: It says to install the Software first. Well I didnt. My bad.
The Cooler is working fine, the Temps are really awesome:thumb:, but the Software wont work.

Software starts and after 1 or 2 seconds this error is shown:

Cannot Connect to Chill Control device.
Check USB connection on device and restart the chill control application

I´ve tried to unplugg the the USB Connector and restart the System but it wont. It just sends an Error with the CPU-Fan and dont start. (Antec Fans at full Speed)
I´ve read many solution to this, and tried some but since i wanted to reinstall my OS (Win8) for a while, I`ll take this as a sign and will reinstall my OS.

But now my Question:
Maybe I´m little confused by now, but if i reinstall my OS and it starts for the first time with the Antec 920 installed, its the same like i have now => Hardware installed first, than Software.
I`ve searched a lot but noone is saying anything about an OS installation.
So how is an OS installation with an Antec 920 done?
Sorry for this stupid Question but I´m really wondering how it works.

And just in case:
My Board => Asus P8H67V

Nothing to do with OS - it is the software.
You need to get the new chill control v1.2 software that is compatible with Windows 8.
The older ones aren't fully compatible with Win8, and were made for win7.

As for what to install - you can install the hardware first, without having to worry about the software right away. That's what I did - installed windows 7 first (new install, new SSD) and then installed all the software (incl antec's one)

Don't forget to hit the rep button if this helped you!
