[Build Log] STH10 - Project Fill it UP - Page 25

Hey there! Question about the spine, because it looks awesome!

Am I correct that you have a positive and negative side? And you use a lot of the 2 way wago connectors. Does it mean every connector has a +12v in it? Why did you not use a 5 way connector so you can plug 4 devices per connector? Or is this pure for the aesthetics of "the spine". What I really like about this log is how much you evolved in using equipment/wires/ ways of implementing things! Don't think it will ever be finished somehow wink.gif

Thread Starter
Just finished wiring everything up, now i learn Aquacomputer launched an USB Hub, thats naturally higher quaility then the NZXT Hub i have.

Anyways the Aquacomputer USB 2.0 Hubs are all wired up, and decided in the end to bite the bullet and throw away the Z10PE-D8 WS Motherboard from Asus.
It has given me nothing but Headaches, and recently gave me another Problem, where everything connected to USB ports doesnt work, additionaly the PC wont load.

I have decided to Change it for good, i havent found any Supermicro board that fits my Needs, so i decided to order an ASrock Server Motherboard.

There are Gigabyte Server Motherboard, there i also havent found something usefull.

The Asrockboard is EP2C612 WS, ist almost a clone of the Asus board without the M.2 Slot, im using as it is a PCI Card for the M.s Drive. (The Aquacomputer Card with passive heatsink)

As you can see it has the same layout as the Asus board, the Sata connectors are angled which is a plus. Hopefully this works without any Problems, cause ist a mess trying to Change the Motherboard.

I also installed an EVGA Powerlink on the Videocards, i must mention the fact that i had to cut it to fit hte connectors on the Card, because the Cards have the lock mechanisms on top of the pci express connectors, and not beneath.

Ill post photos from home.

I have the STH10 with the power supply up top. I did need a power cable extension to reach the bottom compartment. I'll hopefully make my own cables at some point.

That all depends on your component placement. Nowadays the org. cables are pretty long and they can reach far but if you want clean and care about nice cable management that's when you go to custom cabling.
