Is my D drive dead?

Thread Starter
So I have a 120gb hard drive, an old Toshiba 2.5 inch drive from a 2007 laptop. I have it in my PC as a drive to store movies/music/pictures

Recently (this past week) when I try to access the drive, Windows Explorer will stop responding.

I ran: chkdsk /f D:

It didnt' show any bad errors though. So I took everything I could off the drive while I had a brief window of opportunity. Then reformatted the drive, not a quick reformat, but a nice long one.

Just now, I had to restart my computer again (hard reset) because windows explorer stopped working again, the culprit....D drive.

How do I check the integrity of this drive?
