Native Alternative to Classic Shell/Start 8

It returns the start menu natively. Very similar to the registry tweak that Windows 8 used to have to disable metro but was then removed by Microsoft.

It also loads Windows directly to the desktop. Unlike Start8/Classic Shell, which wait until the metro screen pops up then switch to the desktop.

Current price: $1 (30-day free trial)

With the amount of people complaining about how bad the metro ui is, I thought that this would be a popular thread.

Those are mostly people that don't have Windows 8 or tried the Betas. That and everyone already chose start8.

I don't mind the start screen, so I don't really miss the start menu. The app's are just horrible for desktop, at least the ones that replace the desktop versions (like video, email, music, pictures). If you Right click where the start menu used to be, it has another menu which gives quick access to things that would have been on the start menu anyway.

Seems fishy and one of the links was blocked by Sophos because it detected malware.

I'm still trying to figure out how PAYING for a 3rd party app to correct what Microsoft SHOULD have included from the start, is "Native".

Mainly because using a 3rd party app to restore the functionality of "Windows" (as opposed to "Microsoft Retro") to that of the Classic View isn't anything new, any is totally missing the point of all the other threads.

It's native because Microsoft did include it. They just tried to hide it and didn't do a good job at hiding it, so this software unhides it. The other software aren't native, because it's 3rd party code. This is 1st party code.
