GTX 670 reference PCB - voltmod - Page 10

Did some Heaven 4.0 runs and anything above 1.3v, the card shutsdown. Even at Stock clocks. At 1385Mhz I have to turn it down to 1.290v. It might be the vrm's getting to hot.
Just tested with a Fluke VT02 and the hottest was 97'C

And this is through the unlocked bios where you are able to achieve 1.29v?

Unlocked bios allows 1.2125V. This is a hardware mod.

I bet it's the VRM. Don't push it! It killed my card.
I'd say a mild mod is OK for reference PCB. Maybe 1.26V or something like that. 1385MHz is really great, be happy with it. Current goes up with frequency and I bet around 1400MHz the current is dangerously high. If you want to go further, you should buy a card that has 5 or 6 phases.
