Yes, it is the same panel.
The difference is their quality rating.
Upon entering quality control the panels go through a number of inspection points. Some being color accuracy, tint, number of dead pixels and a whole host of other critical factors that define a quality panel.
If they pass this test, the panels are sold to Dell, Apple, and a whole host of other A+ companies.
If they fail this test, they're sold at discount, which Korean companies seem to be buying. This allows them to sell their monitors cheaper because their BoM are much cheaper.
Again, these are the exact same panels. They just have a different quality rating.

They're all identical LG panels, it's their quality rating that is different.
On a slight side note. If you want one of these I suggest you buy one within the next couple of months. It seems to be getting harder for them to procure these 27" panels and they are starting to shift to 1600p 30" panels now.Edited by IcedEarth - 11/24/12 at 6:17am
