Try The gaming adapter on your 3000+. If that don't work its the adapter.

Dude thats ****ty... windows XP and integrated NIC card, drivers reinstalled, can ping the loopback. Christ this is mysterious stuff.

if the wire is connected and the modem/router confirmed working by another PC on the same network, and the cable is deemed good, and cable is cat5, cat5e, cat6 UTP (a twisted pair cable would cause the problem you are describing, maybe), drivers are confirmed working, then the only problem left is windows itself, or MAYBE the mac address is invalid/missing? but I dont think that is possible.

Id say reboot windows, if you havent yet, see if device manager tells you anything, the try disabling/enabling the devices, then uninstall the device - download a different driver and try it all again with the different driver. If all else fails, if you have a linux boot disc, see if whatever linux distro you have can use the device (KNOPPIX isnt veyr picky when it comes to NIC, integrated or not, its worked with my ASUS integrated, netgear gigabit, linksys 10/100, and my old gigabyte integrated)

can you try this.

check if your thing is working right

move pc and hook it directly into modem bypassing the network.

if not try in linux

Directly plugged into the router = works

I tried moving the router into my room before (well, modem and router) and I kept getting disconnected from my hookup, so moving it into my room is a no-go.

Goes I get a cheap PCI Wi-Fi card. And I have no money to get one.

You should of moved the adapter to another computer, instead of moving your computer to another adapter, But you did find the proble just the same.

I killed the onboard NIC on the TForce. Volt modded the wrong thing or else I woulda.

Anywho, I just confused myself. I put it in my moms room, hooked it into the router, it worked. Moved it back into my room, same everything including same Cat5, and it worked. Confused, but at least I don't have to buy anything.

Thanks guys.

Yeah. It happened again when leaving Linux to get into Windows.

Internet wouldn't work.

Turned my computer off, unplugged everything 'cept mouse + keyboard + USB stuff and it wouldn't work. Did it again with everything unplugged and now it works.

Confused, but at least I know whats up. >_>;
