Asus VG278HE 144hz Newegg Open Box

Just grabbed one of these.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236293R

I randomly searched the monitor and it came up as an open box. Does anyone have any experience with this sort of thing? It seemed like too good of a deal to not try for...

its a good deal..but its a return item..or one that was for testing..it may have a dead or stuck pixle.scratched bezel..exc..or you may get lucky and get some body that thought it was a tv!..there is a warrenty thrue newegg and asus..there customer service is a+..so i would go for it..i got the 120hm model and im very happy with it..but it also cost an arm and a leg.

I would be OK with a scratched bezel, but yeah. Super nervous/excited.
dude be excited..either way your safe..thrue new egg or asus..i would do it. asus gameing monitors are awsome..i wish i got the 144hz cause i can push that with my gpus..but i wanted the nvidia 3d that i never use.lol..actully i can almost guarantee it was a return cause someone thought it came with 3d or someone had a 7970 and couldnt use the features..but if you dont buy it i will!! actully its out of stock..so i hope u ordered it

I ordered it - should've clarified haha. It actually sold out the second I placed the order (maybe they only had 1 or 2?). Will report back when I see how my GTX 680 handles it.

ya theres only one with the open box..but im sure you will be happy with it..i have 2 680 lightnings and they easily push 120+.you will def benefit from even one 680..but once you get the monitor.if you never used a 120hz..you wont notice the framerates till you use it for a week or 2 then go back to a 60hz panel..and it feels like garbage!!. i was kinda dissapointed till i hooked up my old monitor and that made me happy with my purchase.better then the 1440p panels

Yeah, I had zero interest in anything above 1080p, since a single 680 isn't going to give me very high framerates at that res. Also, once you commit to a 1440p panel, anything below it will look like crap, so your hands are tied.

no..not at all..i had a catleap korean ips panel that i sold to get my asus..i play alot of fps..would have the 120 over that any day of the week.way too much input lag to game on..
