Trying to remember the names of some old DOS and Windows 95/NT games

I was with my parents for thanksgiving and my father and I got to talking about computers and such.

We started reminiscing about some of the old games we used to have on the computer and neither of us could remember the names of a few of them.

Hopefully someone on here can remember them.

The first game was a puzzle game that was essentially a Rude Goldberg machine that you had to complete.
Things like getting a ball across a maze using pinwheels connected to little tea kettles over fires that spin conveyor belts and such.
There were challenges, or a free build mode that I used to spend hours in.

The second game was an old DOS game where you are trying to help some little gnomes survive on a haunted island(or just trying to get them home) if memory serves.
Once again, it was a puzzle game where each gnome was only able to do certain things and you had to plan their routes and timing perfectly to complete levels.

I realize my descriptions are a little hazy and vague, but I was only about 5 or 6 when I was playing these games, and any help remembering their names would be appreciated.

My dad and I were digging through my old Pentium 3 Homework Computer stuff and discovered a box with Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis in it which got us talking.

MMM all I can seem to think about is Kings Quest. Some more games to throw out there that I loved: Test Drive, Arkanoid, Ski or Die, and some driving game that you could build your own track with loops and such and had a replay mode that would crack me up on occasion. Lemmings was awesome too.
