Just did my first build

Hello all.

I just completed my first ever build last week! (So I'm really noob here, lol)

I just figured out how to OC my video card and did so with some success and now I'm wondering how to do the same to my ram (or even if it's possible from what I've read so far).

I'm running an i7, asus p8z77 mobo, and trident x series ram 4x8gb

In all my experiences with computers, the area I understood the least was RAM. So any input anyone could give me to help would be greatly appreciated smile.gif

Thank you.

is your bios set to xmp? and you should really do research before you attempt to overclock your ram..learn timings and voltages..there really is no difference when you oc your ram..you wouldnt be able to tell the difference.

Really no point to it unless you are going in for some heavy duty benchmarking. What are you going to use your build for?

I'm going to be honest, It's more of a wanting to do it just to do it, kind of thing and because I'd like to know how.

Since the OP, I've now learned what happens when ram becomes unstable and how to reset my bios, lol. So the trial and error method is doing it's thing, but if anyone can give some input, by all means smile.gif

Jeez, 2400MHz RAM? Do you really need to OC that?

But anyway, great setup there - Certainly hope you plan on doing some nice 3D work or something with all that RAM and WS board. Any pics?
