FX-8350 @ 4.5GHz with STOCK Cooler! Anyone Try Yet? - Page 2

It can be done easily if you got a good chip, I had my 8320 stable at 4.7. Keep an eye on the temp tho, I would not attempt a burn test with stock cooling if i was you.

I have mine overclocked to 4.5 right now running on the stock cooler. I haven't run prime95 yet, but I've been playing a heavy dose of games for the past few days without any problems. Temps idle around 35-40c and the highest I've seen has been 85c, generally staying around 50-60c when gaming.

I really doubt that. I'm playing around with my 8320 atm and it ran really toasty @ 4.7ghz with prime95 and IBT with a megahalems with SP120's push/pull

the stock cooler is a pos imo. maybe they live in Antarctica lol

I can 100% guarantee you that this is running at 4.5ghz on stock cooling right now. Like I said, I haven't run Prime95 yet, but I have yet to run into any problems during my lengthy gaming sessions.

lol. I bet my house that overclock is not stable. get a decent cooler and stress test it properly man. don't let the temps go above 62 degrees. 80 degrees+ on an amd cpu is BAD

Meh, I've always pushed my AMD cpus past what other people advise. My last X4 955 ran at around 85c for years. Guess I'll wait until something goes wrong, but so far I've been able to push these things without any problems.

uhmmm ok..rolleyes.gif

I'm sure I'll get toasted at some point smile.gif . But my personality has always been to push things rather than be fanatical about stability.

TLDR; until I get a memory leak, bsod, or temps that stay above 80c when gaming, then this baby is staying at 4.5ghz on the stock smile.gif

Gaming sessions are no problem at all since they will never stress the cpu a 100%. Run prime95 and you'll run into real problems. wink.gif
