FX-8350 @ 4.5GHz with STOCK Cooler! Anyone Try Yet? - Page 4

If the stock cooler can handle 1.325v, then my chip can do 4.5 on the stock cooler.

Golden chip, I know... tongue.gif

My last AMD chip ran at 85c for years. I'll push the limit until something melts-down, which it hasn't yet in my years and years of pushing AMD chips well past the temps you're worried about smile.gif.

Yeah I know, by saying 62C is the absolute max I am referring to per AMD specification of course.

Your older AMD chip also probably had a higher max temp. 62C is the max for newer chips..(per AMD spec) it was higher back in the day.

As soon as I get over 65 degrees I get warnings on my screen that don't go away. That's a good indication of how high I can OC, if I can keep it under that warning temp biggrin.gif

Thats pretty awesome! I recently picked up an 8350 and 4.5 on the stock cooler was much easier than I though. My temps also topped out at 55C with an ambient of 71F.

Mine does 4.5 @ 1.392V. You can probably drop your voltage to about the same if you would just raise your PLL voltage to around 2.6V.

Using a crosshair v formula mobo.. lower the cpu voltage for less heat? Pretty sure its on auto...haven't seen any problems gaming wise or anything yet. Can't run prime or any cpu intensive benchmarks due to stock cooler. For gaming hours on end though I haven't gone over 51 c. Will try suggestion when I get home.
