Is there a way to manually Ignore a user?

I've noticed there are some obnoxious users who do not have a link to Ignore them.

Is there a way to add their names to the Ignore list without using the missing link?

Go to their profile and under their name it should have a 'block user'.  Unless im misunderstanding what you want.  Honestly Ive never used this feature so I dont know how it works tongue.gif

Are they mods? I'm not certain you can block moderators. Other users should be able to be blocked via their profile or the drop-down menu.

Not mods (as far as I can tell) and the link is missing from their profile too.

You cannot block a member of staff, regardless of whether they're for ex. an editor or moderator. If it's a regular member, you should be able to block from dropdown via their name or their profile fields.

If there is no workaround for blocking non-Moderator staff, this thread can be closed.

I'd just like to comment that mandatory post viewing is too big of a privilege to give to somebody for running a video game server.

Honestly, I do agree that it wouldn't be a big deal if people could ignore content from gameserver mods and editors, provided you were content with not seeing the editor's content and not being able to appeal issues on the game server (which it's likely you wouldn't even play on).

I guess it just makes things simpler if you can't ignore any sort of staff though, no possible communication blockage that way.

What would be really nice is if you could hide blocked users threads wink.gif

Right. It also all comes down to why the ignore would be necessary in the first place, anyway. If it's because someone doesn't like the content the editor works with and posts (not speaking off topic, but their job), then... eh. However, if it's going to be used because the editor is posting in an off topic manner, being rude, stuff that they shouldn't be doing that is making them annoying, well then that should be reported to Tator Tot.

In my opinion, the ignore function is used to simply hide other posts from people that you don't want to see (for whatever reason). You have that right. That way, you won't get upset if you see their posts. The thing about staff is, you shouldn't inherently be getting upset or want to hide any of our posts, as it's our job to make sure the community runs smooth so you guys can enjoy it, and we shouldn't be doing anything to make people want to avoid us.

*also not directly speaking to you, just quoted you for your main point*

That would be pretty cool. I'd make a suggestion about that. If it gets no light I'll see if I can bring it to the staff attention.
