I just can't make up my mind! 660 TI? 7870 OC? More...

First of all: HELLO! :-)

As the title suggests, i'm insecure as what to purchase. I just am trying to get the best bang for my bucks, now let me link you to a site http://peluga.at/index.php?action=57&kakat=PCI1024MB , no.. this is in no way advertising, this is a shop nearby where i make my hardware purchases, along with a list of graphic cards with the price right next to it in euros:

My budget... 250 ~ 320 euros..
First thing that came to my mind, was either the Zotac 660 TI GTX for 278 euros (there are other 660's as you can see)
or is the 7870 at 220 euros a better choice?

Or if you prefer, just visit the link i posted and tell me: which one would you go for/recommend?
Thank you very much in advance

The Choice is crystal clear, the 7870 hd out-performs the 660 ti overall.

Overall perf is very close, probably less than 5%. The 660ti is simply overpriced atm.

Yes, This is why the 7970 is no doubt the best choice.

the Gigabyte HD 7950 OC (900 Mhz) is your best option for 306 euros. matches the GTX 670 at stock. when both cards are overclocked HD 7950 is faster than GTX 670 and GTX 680.

http://peluga.at/index.php?action=78&ARANUMMER=20475

here is feedback from GTX 680 users psyside and bruennis who have moved to HD 7950 and HD 7970

here is a comparison of the high end cards with latest drivers. HD 7950 crushes the GTX 660 Ti / HD 7870.

http://www.hardocp.com/article/2012/11/12/fall_2012_gpu_driver_comparison_roundup/3

clock for clock HD 7950 is 3 - 5% slower than HD 7970. HD 7950(1.1 Ghz) matches HD 7970 Ghz.

Showing posts of people who've switched isn't really a strong ground for someone else to switch. For every one person you show me who switched I'll show you another who went the other way as well. Pretty moot point. See it all the time on OCN and for various reasons.

@OP - Based on the performance pendulum always swinging and we do all know performance will sway again as always. I'd go for the 660TI over the 7870. smile.gif

^^ This ...
Some random person posting under a pseudonym in a forum is not ideal to prove a point without a strong evidence...

I recommended the Gigabyte HD 7950 OC as its within the OP's stated budget of 250 - 320 euros. I mentioned the users comments only as a performance feedback. I have included the hardocp review to prove that the feedback of these users is correct. the hexus article with clock for clock comparisons also clearly proves that a HD 7950 is 3 - 5% slower to HD 7970 at same clocks. Its easy to see that the HD 7950(1.1 Ghz) matches a HD 7970 Ghz. It would require atleast a GTX 680 at 1.2 Ghz or more to match the HD 7950(1.1 Ghz). this is a forum for information sharing. if everybody had to get the cards and bench for themselves then whats the point.

the evidence is there in my post if you read it. there was the hardocp review with latest drivers and the hexus clock for clock comparisons of HD 7950 and HD 7970. you know that bruennis has posted his Gigabyte HD 7950 and GTX 680 Lightning Heaven scores for everybody to see.

So does a forum user's personal experience count for nothing. then if everybody has to read tech sites reviews and make decisions then why do they come here and ask for opinion. When people who have used different cards give their opinion its upto you to see if the information agrees with widely available information on tech sites and make your decision.
