Got a samsung 840 (non-pro). Reliability?

Thread Starter
I know it's not going to be as reliable as my 830, but $160 for 250GB, plus Far Cry 3 as a bonus seemed like too good a deal.

I'm not going to run the OS, that'll be on my 830.

I got the 840 strictly for Steam and games. Think it'll last? Once you install a game, it's read mostly, right? Not a lot of saving? Especially if you stick the save files on an HDD?

What say you?

Yea, it should be fine.

I'm not sure how accurate this is but I've heard Samsung quality control is generally better than most other companies because they design and make all of the components in-house.

I wasn't planning on getting an SSD any time soon but today I think my laptop hard drive started to die. Most of the good BF deals are sold out so I jumped on the Samsung 840 for $158 from newegg. It looks promising in the Anand review:

In other words, it would take roughly seven years for you to wear out the NAND.
