300-350 budge build

Thread Starter
I'm building a computer for my friends family and the budget is 300 I can go over a little, but it would be dipping into my pocket at that point. He said mainly web surfing and light gaming so I figured an APU would be best but this is new territory for me and would like input from OCN.

This is going to be the family computer so it should see moderate usage (websurfing, emails, tv/movies)with light gaming

Heres my part list:
CPU + MOBO: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.1102158
HDD: http://www.ncix.us/products/?sku=58746&vpn=ST31000524AS&manufacture=Seagate&promoid=1030
RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231314
PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139026
Case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146076

A8-5600k
MSI FM2-A75MA-E35
Seagate 1TB
G.Skill Ripjaws 8GB(2x4GB) 1600Mhz
Corsair CX430
NZXT Source 210

Total: 261.64 + 58.00 (HDD) - 20MIR = 299

I'm barely in the budget, and am open to ideas, I did want to overclock at first, but then that dream slowly slipped away as I kept adding more parts, I figured with this, it leaves some room for upgrade if not much lol.

PS. and i plan on buying everything by tonight

That looks great! If you wanted to spend a little extra, this memory is excellent, and will overclocked to 2133 or 2400mhz. (mine is at 2133)

As for overclocking, once they get the money (if ever) a hyper 2120 Evo would aid in cooling enough to get a moderate overclock in there, which would help both the CPU and inbuilt GPU.

This PSU

This brings your NCIX order above $50 thus saving $8 on shipping, to counteract the lack of a rebate.

It's a better PSU anyway (somewhat older design, but I think it's Seasonic built, totally pwns the newer CX430)

But honestly you might as well scrap the full-size idea and go small form factor, saving more money, saving space and without sacrificing on build reliability/upgrade capability.

For a PC with just these purposes, I personally make small form factor a standard.

Soo bought all the parts, thanks for all the advice, i actually ended up adding a dvd drive to the order to get shipping costs down, since the psu was OOS. I'm still looking for what dGPU pairs best with this card for "hybrid-fire"(using the iGPU), if anyone has some benchmarks could they link me? or if they just happen to know off the top of their head, but I'm looking for viable upgrade paths for this build, to give them some options down the line of they feel like something is unplayable or too laggy (like if they get a 1080p monitor) I hope they don't last I gave them was a 1280x1024, I thought at most its a 720p monitor, but I have a feeling they could upgrade that in the near future, anyways thanks for the help guys hope everyone had a happy B-friday/C-monday/E-tues lol I know i did smile.gif
