BXII, D5 and TDX upgrade.

post #1 of 2
Thread Starter
I recently bought a new D5 pump and TDX block w/ accelerator nozzle, along with a generic DangerDen plastic resevoir and a Black Ice Extreme 120.2(shown here)
Attachment 35450

My plan->*To install the new gear....in the case, to replace the external Zalman Reserator I currently have.
The Gear->*Aspire X-Gamer case
*Asus P5B-DL
*DangerDen TDX cpu block
*Liang DD5
*DangerDen 5 1/4" res. w/ 2 inputs, one output.
*Zalman GPU block
*BXII 120.2
Overall, I would recommend the Reserator kit to anyone.....but, in persuit of a higher OC, I started looking else wheres for better temps. Ya I know , big surprise.
Below are a couple pics, first of the old system, then of the radiator installation.

Attachment 35454 Had to let the Rad hang! er' else the nipples will hit the DVD drives.....aarrggh!
After all that....I forgot I didnt have 2 matching 120mmm fans, LOL! Attachment 35456
I made sure to leave enough slaack in the hoses to easily pull out and access the fill port in the resevoir. I used a smoked 1/2"ID Tygon and added a "T" in the loop to isolate the GPU block. Overall, I average a 10c temp improvement at idle, when running my 6700 at 3.5ghz. Even using the old 3/8" GPU block {adapted for 1/2"}, my load temps on the GPU improved by almost 20c !.....I cant wait until I hook up the big blowers to the rad! I have a buncha NEC 24v Nidec fans...135cfm me thinks.
