As for the SSD, Sean's SSD Buyers Guide & Information Thread should be helpful.

    • Corsair Neutron Series GTX (5yr warranty) / (Toggle MLC NAND)
    • Crucial M4 (3yr warranty) / (Synchronous MLC NAND)
    • OCZ Vertex 4 (5yr warranty) / (Synchronous MLC NAND)
    • OCZ Vector (5yr warranty) / (Synchronous MLC NAND)
    • Plextor M5 Pro (5yr warranty) / (Toggle MLC NAND)
    • Plextor M5S (3yr warranty) / (Synchronous MLC NAND)
    • Samsung 840 Pro (5yr warranty) / (Toggle MLC NAND)
    • Samsung 830 (3yr warranty) / (Toggle MLC NAND)
    • Samsung 840 (3yr warranty) / (Toggle TLC NAND)
    • High end SandForce preferably with Toggle NAND.
  • High end SandForce - Anything with Synchronous or Toggle mode NAND. These are a lot faster with incompressible data. Please look into one of these drives before you consider a asynchronous SandForce drive, it would be a waste of $ to buy a asynchronous drive when you can get something with Toggle or Synchronous NAND for a similar or lower price imo.
    Toggle NAND SandForce:
    • Corsair Force Series GS (3yr warranty)
    • Mushkin Chronos Deluxe (3yr warranty)
    • OCZ Vertex 3 Max IOPS (3yr warranty)
    • Sandisk Extreme (3yr warranty)
    • Transcend SSD720 (3yr warranty)
    Synchronous NAND SandForce:
    • ADATA XPG SX900 (3yr warranty)
    • ADATA S511 (3yr warranty)
    • Corsair Force Series GT (3yr warranty)
    • Intel 520 (5yr warranty)
    • Intel 335 (3yr warranty)
    • Intel 330 (3yr warranty)
    • Kingston HyperX (5yr warranty)
    • Kingston HyperX 3K (3yr warranty)
    • Mushkin Chronos MX (3yr warranty)
    • PNY XLR8 Pro (3yr warranty + 2 with registration)
    • PNY XLR8
    • PNY Prevail Elite (5yr warranty) / (eMLC NAND)
    • PNY Prevail
    • OCZ Vertex 3 (3yr warranty)
  • Low end SandForce - Anything with Asynchronous NAND. These are a lot slower with incompressible data than their higher-end brothers. Usually I'd recommend these to people who are an a very tight budget or those who want a cheap SSD for storage.
    Asynchronous:
    • ADATA S510
    • Corsair Force Series 3
    • EDGE Boost Pro 120GB
    • G.SKILL Phoenix III
    • Kingston SSDNow V+ 200
    • Mach Xtreme DS Turbo
    • Mushkin Chronos
    • OCZ Agility 3
    • OCZ Solid 3
    • OWC Mercury Electra 6G
    • Patriot Pyro
    • Super Talent TeraDrive CT3

Sean also threw this SSD at me while it was on sale: Mushkin Enhanced Chronos Deluxe. At first I was looking just for a 128GB, but he hinted on that I can get a better deal on 240-256 GB SSDs, when they are on sale.

Today I talked to my friend who I built the pc for and he told me that he figured out uplay. I still feel that it is too young an OS, so much hassle. Just my opinion, a little foot in mouth as well. Im still for Windows7 though.

I won't derail this any further. I don't have a problem with Windows 7 either. I just don't support claims of Windows 8 can't run something even when many others have gotten it to work. It just takes Google. thumb.gif

Here you go: Patriot Intel Extreme Master, Limited Edition 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866
(and no, it doesn't matter that it says Intel in the title, its just the color - which still matches the Msi mobo you chose).

One thing I noticed missing from your build was a cpu cooler.

a great and fairly cheap cpu cooler is the hyper 212 evo by cooler master and its a cinch to install one. i had it figured out and installed on a custom build in less then 5 minutes. also keep in mind you might wanna splurge and get some arctic silver 5 thermal grease for an aftermarket cpu cooler. great heat transfer properties and after breakin it will lower your temps another couple degrees celcius

I second this post. I love my CM 212+. The price to performance ratio is one of the best out there and the direct heat pipe contact is a great set up. Not hard to install and not mean on the wallet. Running my 965 BE ! @ 3.8 1.49V it stayed between 49-51C for over 7 hours of prime95. It's a champ.

Hey guys! So i have my newegg wishlist ready to go (buying windows 7 64 bit separatly from amazon for $91 but was wondering if i need to buy any cables to actually build the unit? I know i need a cable but to hook up my monitor but anything else???
usually monitors have vga cables included, and a psu will include a big 3 prong power cord for your wall power. if you already have a good power strip with surge suppressor then you should be pretty well good to go. just make sure you have enough sata cables, as sometimes you only get 2 with motherboards and if your gonna run an ssd and mechanical and an optical drive you will need to order spares.
