What version is the S3 on?

What is the current Android version OS for At&t's Samsung S3? Is it 4.0 or 4.1
post #2 of 7
4.0 is ice cream sandwich; likely your phone will come with this version
4.1 is jelly bean, soon to be upgraded.

if you know what you're doing 4.1 jelly bean is available from xda-developers.

Any idea when the 4.1 update is due? Knowing Samsung most likely a year from now...

the android community is really cool, learning about custom roms and firmware is fun unless you value your warranty. if you really require 4.1 that bad go check out xda-developers, otherwise you're at at&t's mercy.

4.1 should come out I would guess mid next year. But if you are a cool awesome person, you can get it right now over on XDA.

I'm already on 4.1.1, I think it depends on carrier. Though I've read that us Northern Europeans are lucky to get the update first.

This is correct. Sprint has already rolled out the 4.1.1 update to their Galaxy S3's. Source
