2.8GHz is pretty decent for socket 939.

DFI gave up the consumer market 2-3 years ago. They cut their US and overclocker staff like 3-4 years ago.
Once again...

When I build my new rig I'll probably sell off my 939 stuff.
I'm still running an opty 165 in an A8N32 sli deluxe with 2gb ocz platinum.
Best I ever got was 2.8ghz with my xigmatek. I had my ram up to 250mhz a couple times.

Now its running at 2.3 and my ram is at 210 ish.

Still have an A8N sli (non 32) in the closet with an athlon 3500+, 1gb corsair and zalman flower. Only issue is a broken keyboard ps/2 port. Also put a heatpipe cooler on the chipset since the fan was a known issue.

I love 939. Great times for computer people. biggrin.gif

This thread gives me warm feelings of 939 goodness wubsmiley.gif.

I feel like the Athlon64 architecture era really was the heyday for us overclockers. Now AMD is almost out of the picture, and Intel is rumored to be moving to integrated solutions. I wonder how much longer overclocking will really be relevant to anyone.

All well, time to pull out the DDR, and the 3200+ Clawhammer typer.gif

I felt the system I had was the best. biggrin.gif

Mobo: Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe

CPU: Opteron 185

Ram: Corsair 3500LL-Pro

When I moved to a core 2 duo system, I was able to sell that ram for around $220!

Okay guys this is what i have for the build still seeking some suggestions. As for a reply to fellow overclockers who also share a certain warmth in their soul for the 939 platform I am glad you share my current feeling about the situations we are discussing. I just feel that the way things have progressed with computer customizing and building we have come a long way. Now that I am not a child anymore and I have some funds to build my dream socket 939 machine "In a reasonable effort (Suggesting Price) I have come to this list so far. This has to be watercooled eventually. I will play oblivion and some other games from the era, Use it for youtube and my fiancees machine. I havent found a decent priced FX60 as of yet. I will look for it here in the wanted section. I refuse to pay $200 for it on ebay.

IM not sure if its legal to the TOS to ask for parts for free or ask for donations on OCN. However. If you are wanting to make any kind of donation for the machine please feel free to pm me with what you have and we can see if it will work, As 939 is becoming extinct!

This is what i have so far
