PC restarts if I pick the Windows 7 install on a Windows 8 dual boot - Page 3

Honestly doing anything will not make any difference, it is just how Windows 8 handles its bootloader.

Heh, that is the issue of the OP and the thread.

I press the power switch on my desk and my machine does one POST to get to the Windows 8 OS selection screen. When I select Windows 7 it restarts and then runs through the POST again and boots into Windows 7. Rather annoying since the POST time is about four times longer than the boot time of Windows 7 or 8 thanks to the SSDs.

It really isn't a huge deal since I am not going to be forever dual booting Windows 7 and 8...but it will be a couple weeks or so until I decide if I want to burn my MSDN key and activate the Windows 8 now or hold off on it and see what its first SP1 brings.

My computer is meant to obey...not to annoy me. biggrin.gif

Are you using those dark blue navy colored (or whatever color) SATA ports?
