keep the hd 6950 1gb or upgrade - Page 12

Maybe just wait and see. Your I3 and 6950 are fine for now. GTA just sucks.

OP a HD 7950 boost is close to 2x the performance of HD 6950 in the most demanding games like BF3, MOH Warfighter . HD 7950(1.1 Ghz) is on par to HD 7970 Ghz and will be faster than HD 6950 by 80% - 100% across most games.

if you are going to be playing all the latest games and want to play at max settings get the HD 7950. otherwise just stick with the HD 6950.

But I do think he needs to upgrade is cpu before the gpu. I personally think the I5 will be a great choice.

GTA is one of the worst optimized games. ^ that.

I'd say stick with your 6950 or go for a 7950 if you can find a legit sale on it.

7950's in the US can go for $240~ USD using slickdeals. Of course that kind of pricing is a privilege us Americans have but really, aim for a deal using sites if there are any to be had in your country. If it's too big of a chunk of change, wait until the 8xxx series.

OP do you have any other games that lag? Because if its only GTA time to find another game. I used to lag on my GTX 580. Its not your hardware. Its the game.

Then just stay put and wait it out. Then in the future upgrade everything. GTA is just a bad game. Hopefully 5 will be better optimized.
