Must be a new thing with the "upgraded" 7000 cards. Thank god I got the ones without their little speed-stepping (or whatever nonsense they've decided to call it). I've owned both the 7870 and 7950 (though the later as I said is a real oddball card, and I'm not sure they're even making them anymore). In all honesty though, the issue with both the 7970 and 7950 is heat, not voltage. I know 2 guys with (shall we call them fist generation) 7970s (MSI and Gigabyte) and they both hit their max clocks on air without breaking 1.3v.

Looks like the Sapphire should be OK, but give the source I'd take this with a huge grain of salt:

Fantastic, I was never planning on breaking 1.3v, but I do want to be able to bring it up past stock so I can at least hit 1200-1250Mhz

From what I've seen the sapphire should be okay. I ended up getting a matrix last week for 479 from nix since it said they were instock sadly they weren't frown.gif and now hopefully they get them this Friday. Had a chance at getting them on newegg last week since they came up at 1 in the morning
