I have to re-do the setup EACH time I want to play a game in eyefinity. The profiles are not saved correctly. If I want to maximize to one monitor I have to run a seperate profile. This has resulted in my almost never using eyefinity since it takes 5 minutes to set it up just to be able to play the game. NVSurround seems to have a better software solution for this. Anything I can do to stay in the ATI camp?

Yes don't play multi monitor.....

Buy a 2560x1440 single monitor instead, much better for gaming...

A single 1920x1080 22" monitor has 100 pixels per inch, 3x 1920x1080 22" monitors in eye finite still have 100 pixels per inch, you doing all that extra rendering and yet the image is not shaper or clearer.

A 2560x1440 27" monitor has a higher amount amount of pixels per inch and will give a sharper picture and you won't have eyefinity problems.

Nvidia surround is not perfect either and a 680 doesn't have the memory or memory bandwidth for such resolutions anyway.

OpenCL is NOT dead. In fact, it's becoming more widely adapted every month. Not sure how you arrived at that conclusion... rolleyes.gif

My 7950 was $300, so I bought it over the 670 for the extra $100 saved. I'll do the same thing next generation, whoever has better prices will get my money for two cards.

So the 7950 is the best bang for buck can anyone link me to the best known overclocker? so I can hit 7970 speeds easily?.

Since 7950s are showing up at and sometimes under $300, and it competes well with the 670 (which averages between $75 and $100 more than the 7950), has lower power draw, less heat, more RAM for multi-monitor... I'm having a lot of trouble justifying not buying one once a nice model (Gigabyte Windforce or MSI Lightening) dips below $300. It'll certainly future-proof me well beyond what my 460 would.
