The name "WORKGROUP :1d" could not be registered on the interface with IP address

Hi there!

I did a fresh install of Windows 7 - and I am failing to understand two things:
1. My PC boot time is a little slower
2. I get the following error
(Please bear in mind I'm on a uni connection & on Home premium)

Oh and I should mention the IP address is indeed my PC.
And not like it should matter, but just in case - the MAC address of my PC is the same as the one of my Xbox (they are never connected up at the same time - as I have to trick the uni connection that my xbox is my PC - I didn't have this problem beforehand)

Any help will be appreciated!

Cheers!

the ip address has likely been leased to your xbox. your computer with the same mac is attempting to claim the already taken ip address. request a new ip or revert your xbox to have it's own mac again.

legend I'll try that now.

It will kick me off the xbox live - but then I can re-put it on I guess.

I'll give it a shot now!

OK:
I removed the MAC - and it kicked me off the system for my xbox.
Now I restarted the pc, and still the problem occurs?

What still gets me is how on earth is boot time slower than before?
I have less things installed & no asus bloatware 0.0!

EDIT:
SOLVED the event viewer problem - like a baws.

Had NOTING to do with my xbox thing.
In fact it had to literally do with my workgroup - I realised, upon checking the settings that I had no workgroup.
And then when i tried to join one, it would ask for a password - a little venturing in the settings, and I found how to switch off the password lock.
Created a workgroup - and bang problem solved.

PC still takes time to boot up more than before though.

Hope this helps anyone with the same problem in the future:
