I would get a better one if you have not already ordered the Extreme Power plus
Its almost impossible to overspend on a PSU
The Silent Pro M2 520W or Silent Pro Platinum 550W is what i would get yes they cost alot but you get what you paid for

That CM is a poor overrated unit. I would definitely returned it and get something else. If you want to get a proper PSU recommendation, it would be helpful to know how much you can spend as well as links for the place you are buying from.

And this is exactly why you cannot make gross generalizations...

As said, links and budget would help us narrow down your choices.

Again" everytime I post here, I am far amazed with a quick and good knowlegde replies.

I am trying to purchase a psu from ncix along witg promotion of $20.00 off and free shipping over $50.00.

Furthermore, my budget for psu is between $30.00 to $45.00 for 2500k overclocking upto 4.2 to 4.5 along with a gtx560 or a pair of 6770.

My original psu purchase was enermax 450w from ncix. I googled a bit and concluded that a good psu brand such as enermax between 400w to 450w should be able to handle the system I am currently looking at. On the other hand, for long tern I may want to get beyond 500w due to decrease performance of efficiency over the time. However I saw a reply that cooler master is one of good brands. So, I changed it, but now I am confused.

thanks

Ok, go with an XFX Core 450 for around 40 dollars and maybe you can opt for a new generation card, maybe a 7850?

I found Thermaltake tr2 500w was one of psu recommendations here in overclock.net.

thanks.

If you click on the link in question in the Recommended PSU thread, it will lead you to this, which is a different product that the one you linked (an old, trashy unit). wink.gif

The cheapest unit at NCIX that I'd recommend is the Corsair CX 430 (CX 430v2), but keep in mind, these units come with a single PCIe connector, and you'll need two of them for the 560/6770 CFX, so you'll be forced to use an adapter.
Consider my above suggestion (the 7850, should be marginally more expensive than the 560 but it performs a lot better, it draws considerably less power and it needs no Molex to PCIe adapter.
