New u2412m looks different from old u2412

Thread Starter
Just got another u2412m and it looks much worse/different. It looks more yellow, washed out, and darker. Keep in mind I have calibrated/adjusted every settings on the new one to 100% match the old one. I bought my first one in January this year. Could it be that the new one has a new firmware?

Help!

Do you have a hardware calibrator?

Monitors in general will have some variance in the quality of their image; that is, there is some variance in contrast, tinting, temperature, backlight bleed, etc from monitor to monitor. This is normal. The U2412m isn't factory calibrated, so you have no assurance it'll be the same. Differences between my two U2311h drove me nuts, so I went and bought myself a hardware calibration tool (i1D2) to calibrate the two monitors so they looked the same.

You need to calibrate it. In my experience most monitors are way off out of box, whether too warm or too cool unless they're pre-calibrated. OSD isn't a very effective way of calibrating it IMO.
