GPU-Z works fine for me.

Use HxD to view the actual BIOS in a sea of HEXes.

Hawaii BIOS Reader for simple alterations.

I'll check your BIOS in 2 days. thumb.gif

I'd appreciate any help I could get, I'm learning on the fly, but.....this is a LOT more complicated than modding the bios on the Maxwell cards.

You have hynix right? Then you have mfr memory, which i never seen before. 390(x) usally have hynix ajr memory and normal 290(x) 4gb has afr or bfr. Then there are some elpida variants too, so many memory types rolleyes.gif

Heya @fyzzz have you noticed this BIOS has timings for Hynix that just go as high as 1375? Interesting.

@Vellinious

Try this mate. Let me know what this does.

I see you changed the TDP, power limit and TDC. What else did you change?

Memory timings now uses 1250 Strap for 1375 up. And forcing your card to have a higher than stock DPM 7 Voltage. 1287 to be exact.Before droop.

I appreciate the help. I'll get it flashed tomorrow night and see how well it works.

I hadn't run Heaven yet with the stock bios and block on the card, so I ran it quick last night, at relatively the same clocks as Firestrike had been stable on. Ran perfectly...thinking I could push it harder, even.

Question: with the custom bios, is a USB hard drive ok to flash from? I have a couple of smallish USB flash drives, but don't have one as big as the TPU guide said I'd need. I have a 1TB WD passport drive that I can use.....I don't see why that'd be an issue, but....thought I'd ask, just to make sure.

Anyway....Heaven run at 1300 / 1803. Seems pretty decent. Kicked my single 970 score right in the sack.

That is a very sweet card. thumb.gif

1GB is fine. The files are too small.

I didn't know there was a club for these, I picked up an XFX R9 280 DD open box at MC last week for $82, love this thing. Runs super quiet, I tossed a quick 1050/1500 OC on it (voltage is locked) and it has no problems with it. I wish I had bought one of these back when Tahiti was a big deal haha.
