@NathG79 Do you mind posting the BIOS of your card on here, Would like to try and flash it on my 7950

Hi.If you navigate to techpowerup and look for VGA bios database the file/rom is posted on that site.

the BIOS that I have installed on my launch 7970 is (015.012.000.004.000346)

Hope everything goes well with your 7950 flash!

here's mine but i got to be honest, the second card i bought to CF is from VTX3D just for the needed cooling on a sndwiched upper card. maybe i can join tho.

don't get me wrong pls, i don't want to make xfx bad. i really think (and hope) that all of these 3 cards were/are faulty.

My one XFX 7970 BE I got during release is a monster. I use it as the head of my array.

started running heaven and it got smelling a little hot. don't you love that resiny smell? smells like victory

this is why you don't sandwich GPUs

anyway, my new 7870 (installed on top) has 4 heatpipes while the one i got a month ago has 2 heatpipes and a smaller heatsink

do you think there is any way to get a replacement heatsink or card? the new design is clearly superior. i guess they realized the old design was crummy and did a revision. kinda sucks i have a gimped card. PCBs are different too
forgot to mention there are no VRM temp sensors on the older card. missing some other sensors too that the newer card has

I think it is the old 7870 that has the 4 heat pipes and the plate which says 7870 on it, revision J.0 is the latest which has just two heat pipes now and they gone all generic making one plate for the entire 7800 series, labeled just as that. Is a bit of a downer really, as every review i watched and read featured the 4 heat piped version, with individual model branding etc and i get something slightly different when ordering. Still a nice card, but not exactly as i expected.

I have the older revision of the XFX 7850 DD (the one with the 4 heat pipes) and my cards cooling is fine. max temp is 67c with 1250/1450mhz OC. and i also have VRM temp sensors.

ive noticed that the newer revision doesent have ram cooling

Throw the name on the list bro. Got mine 2 days ago and installed it last night. One thing I noticed though, it you guys have 2 6-pin connectors for power I have a 8-Pin and a 6-Pin connector. Might be something with the Ghz Edition?

So far she runs great, no need to OC since she blasts through every game I own on ultra.

Pros:
1.Stupid fast, blows through every game I own.

2. Runs really cool in my rig. Crysis 3 on ultra settings doesn't get this card above 73C.

3. It's said it's extremely overclock-able, but I'll wait till something can even touch what I have now. (Rumors: Core: 1200 Mhz / Memory: 1745 Mhz)

Some cons:
1. Has a audabile power hum when using any 3D application. Not loud but you can hear it. Doesn't bother me but might bother some.

2. When using a 3D Stress testing application you here very audible capacitor squeal. Only happens on 3D stress test applications, even comparable max load / usage games don't cause this to happen. I can live with it because I don't stress test my card ever.

3. Games that don't utilize more than 25% of the GPU are force to run in a lower clock 501 / 1500. Doesn't seemingly reduce performance of the game, but hey what gives?

Quite common these days, especially as other components become quieter, but still makes me cringe, especially when you are bench marking a new overclock, anyway just to let you know while its distressing to hear i don't think its anything to worry about, though my last two graphics cards have blown instead of been passed down as they should have =/
