i would run a game like Counterstrike Source. and run the stress test. or F.E.A.R. and do the same thing. it should give u an idea of how they perform in the real world. and not just in benchmarks

How about FRAPS? I don't have F.E.A.R or CS...I guess I could try to run the games included in the FX5800 bundle...

I've been playing some Elder Scrolls III. I'm getting about 8-30 FPS outdoor and 60-80 FPS indoor. Does this seem about right? The resolution is set at 1024x768. OC'ing or stock doesn't make much difference.

Is this about right for an FX5800?

edit: I should also mention that it is sometimes choppy in high detailed areas.

The thing is, I'm already running the game @ 1.721 Ghz. My new CPU still hasn't arrived yet

I'm now running it on my 9500 Pro. Seems to get about the same FPS...

Oh and the air duct arrived today. I installed it, uninstalled it, reinstalled it a few times but I'm still unsure if it is working. I got a 60mm to 80mm fan adapter on the CPU HS and then I screwed the other end to the case fan. The thing is, I don't know if the fan is facing the right way and is blowing air out or pushing air in (bad). Putting my hand on the side doesn't help =/. I'm really confused. Right now the side with the fan exposed it facing towards the outside of the case. Is this right? I don't want hot air to be trapped inside the tube...temps are 1 C - 2C down.

um... try just removing fan by itself. and c what way the air goes

Ok, I did that already but when I put the fan back in the air seems to go nowhere. Taking it out tells me where it goes, but the air doesn't seem to move when I install the fan in the case.

So today I went ghetto. I tried to install my 80mm case fan onto the adapter but I didn't have any screws that would fit. They were either too long or too narrow. So I think for a bit...aha! Twistie Ties!!! So I take four twistie ties, tie my 80mm fan onto the adapter, install the (Evercool) Air tube and then I checked the temps. 50 C idle. Well, not bad, considering it is a 5C drop in temp and I'm not using AS5. I then took my other 80mm fan and installed it into the front of my case, near my hard drives.

I'll post pics of this weird set up when I find the darned camera...where is it???

btw: I'm running the 9500 Pro ATM.
