Need help choosing a graphics card!

Hello everyone:)

I have kinda been at a stalemate with myself over wich GPU to get. I kinda got it narrowed down to 3, and I need some input because I'm a noob!

The 3 are: Msi Gtx 680 lighting 2gb, Evga Gtx 680 4gb, or the Evga Gtx 670 4gb.

After a ton of research I concluded that the Msi would be the best option for me, however I'm having second thoughts with the amount of Vram the Msi has. Is 2gb more than enough? I plan on recording very high quality videos, and will be running a 120hz benq monitor.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!tongue.gif

Assuming the monitor is 1080p, 2GB is plenty of VRAM for pretty much any single monitor setup thumb.gif

If you are only using one monitor the MSI will do great.

If you plan on getting a Surround setup going and will be running demanding games in surround then you would need the extra Vram.

Just my two cents (PS I am an AMD guy so I may be WAAYYYY off... )

I'm assuming the MSI alone could still easily run a trip monitor setup? I do plan on adding another when I get the Cash. I just want the best card for recording with fraps, and have the highest quality possible on games like battlefield a crysis!

Thanks for the replies guys!biggrin.gif

From my experience recording takes CPU and HDD R/W speeds more than GFX performance.

Don't get me wrong it is still important but a multi-threaded powerhouse of a CPU will help a lot also.

I have the EVGA GTX 680 4gb and love it. I play x-plane 10, which is massive, but even my GTA 4 mods run close to 2gb. You would be fine for now with the vast majority of games with 2gb, but I'm thinking games not too far done the road will cross that line more often.

Get the lightning, if you wanna do multi monitor setup and get good FPS, then go ATI. I own a 690 and triple monitors @ 1080 with BF3 in ultra aint fun.

If you want to run multiple monitors and record games being played across said setup, you will DEFINITELY need a multi-GPU config for it to remain playable tongue.gif

I don't think I could ever game on 3 monitors, one seems fine to me. I would use the other one for social stuff!
