I believe that you can utilize a "Semi-SLi" mode which is X16 and X 4 via hacked drivers. If you use the X4 mode you will disable all other remaining X1 pci-e slots.

What the dual slots were originally created for was dual video cards and 4 monitor support.

I have the same motherboard and Ropey is right. Asus intended to have the board make use of crossfire but they never went through with it. Its probably not worth getting another vid card to try it out since the other slot is only 4x and is not officialy supported.

Off topic but what kind of clockspeeds have you gotten out of your 945? Im interested since we pretty much have the same computer, yours with better cooling though.

I'd say get an 8800 GTS which is probably faster than two 7900 GT in SLI or the 8800 GTX which is faster than two 7900 GTX in SLI and have the latest drivers for your rig.......

Except, get that 945 to at least 4.50ghz or a little higher, if you're not at that speed already.

A single gts is faster then a 7950 GX2 and just a litttttle bit slower then a 7950 GX2 SLI.

Ill post some benchies.
