To anyone that bought a Kingston HyperX 3K 120GB from tigerdirect on cyber monday

So Sunday night I bought the above SSD from Tiger Direct on there Cyber Moday sale for $60. And I was looking at the order status today and I saw that my order was canceled. So not knowing what happened I called them about it, still not sure why I didn't get a email saying it was canceled. So after at least 30 min of waiting for a support rep I finally got through, and to my dismay they won't be honoring my purchase of the SSD. As they had a overload of people trying to get the SSD, yet once it said it was sold out it wouldn't let you go through with the order. So they proceeded to offer a alternative, but I would have had to pay full price for it. I asked if I could get it for the same discount that I should have gotten the HyperX for and I got a big nope. And the best part is the fact that I canceled my order of a OCZ Agility 4 128gb from amazon that was on sale for $70 to get this SSD. So now I am out of a SSD.

TL;DR Check your order to make sure it wasn't canceled.

Ouch. I was tempted to jump on one of those too.
Sounds fairly lame.

Man, that is terrible. They could of at least tried to work with you. Offering for full price is meaningless. You could buy it for full price at any time.

I didn't mention this but they actually offered a different drive as they said they wouldn't be restocking the 3k...

My brother in law ordered a laptop on offer from Ebuyer (UK)....few days later they emailed him and said they could not deliver as his address was not a Paypal verified address which is complete rubbish as hes been at that address for years and years and hes an Ebay addict who always uses Paypal with no issues at all, ever.

Anyway, Ebuyer cancelled then took the laptop off the promotion same day...absolute gimps.
Seems some retailers spit their dummys out sometimes tongue.gif

So OP, what drive did they offer you?

Well the first drive the offered was a 60gb drive not sure what it was, as once she said i wouldn't be able to get the same drive I quite listening to be honest. But I have good news, I just got off the phone with a different rep and I was able to get this a Kingston SSDNow V+200 120GB as a replacement at the price the hyper 3k was $60. Now this one is asynchronous NAND instead of synonymous, but still i got a ssd for $.50 a gb smile.gif

Tigerdirect is known for pulling bullcrap like this. Honestly if the company had better customer service like newegg or amazon they could get a chunk of change. Oh well.

Well this was my first and last time using them, I shouldn't have had to go through all that to get a ssd that I bought and got a order confirmation for. Not to mention no email from them saying my order was canceled.
