First time here, I was hoping to overclock my IB 3570k to 4.5ghz with a moderate temp but from what ive been researching and reading from different sites are that 3570k does heats up once OC. Without OC stock IB should be very cool and uses low VID. My dilemma is that at stock the voltage reach to 1.264v and my CoreTemp reading is 1.3066 VID@ (3.8ghz) with the avg temp of 26 27 35 29C. My setup is i5 3570k (Costa Rica:3230B647), Asrock Extreme3 Z77(Updated Bios 1.2), Hyper 212+(Push), 8gb GSkill 1600MHZ, Vertex4 128GB, OCZ 600W Mod X power supply all in CM HAF 922. When I tried to reach a stable OC @4.5GHZ I need a Fixed 1.305v with everything in bios set on auto and in Prime my temp reached max of 82C on core 1&2, 0 and 3 are mid 70s. I had already check out the asrock motherboard overclock guide and that didnt seem to help. I know buying i5 is silicon lottery so i was wondering if I should exchange for a different i5 that maybe uses lower VID or maybe I need a better MB?
