Mine is completely stock too, haven't changed anything.

Is the wires for the button connecting properly?

Problems like that are usually caused by something really simple tongue.gif

Power options>Choose what the power buttons do (on the left)>When I press the power button>change that to shut down or your preferred option.

I would imagine the HTPC would not turn on if the cause of not turning off via the power button was due to loose wires.

Good point.

I've been enjoying Windows 8 so far. Hardly ever go in the metro thing, but when I do it's really quick. Also, Windows 8 is a lot better at finding programs or files to make things work unlike Windows 7.

Same rate? Where is the proof?

I wonder how many are of the 15 dollar or less variety.

Bingo!

And for those of us who have ZERO intentions of having a console game system (much less one from Microsoft) or a Microsoft smart phone, and will RARELY use a laptop or tablet, it's pretty pointless to FORCE a GUI that is optimized for those platforms.

So do millions of other people. Who cares what other people say, let people use the OS they want.

But if people say Windows 8 is a failure, they are ignorant and uninformed.

Bold: Quite the opinion you have there. Anyone can claim someone is uninformed, proving it is another situation in its own right.

I'd say the sales prove a point. Which shows that again it's just a minority of people that dislike it.

Pre installed OEM copies, stuffing the retail channels with copies likely still sitting on shelves... the give away $30 (or less) upgrade price promotion....

They should count activations not imaginary sales numbers.

I have tried it and do not like. Metro is for tablets and phones. Win 7 stays until they pry it from my cold, dead hands. Or kill off driver support.
