PC will boot in safe mode but not normally.

Hello all,

I am having a really frustrating problem. I can boot into safemode fine but my computer hangs when I want to boot normally, I get to the windows 7 loading screen where those orbs come in to create the windows logo and then after that loads I can hear the fans on my gpu ramp up a little for like a second and then it goes back to normal and my monitor just says no signal detected.

I tried the selective startup thing in msconfig and unticked everything but still nothing. Even though I can boot into safe mode and access my ssd and hdd drives could it still be a drive problem?

This is just frustrating because it was working perfectly fine last night.

Forgive me if there are typos because I am creating this thread on my phone.

Thanks

Try this as something similar last week and here is what I did to take care of it.

1. Login to safe mode.
2. Go to device manager.
3. Uninstall the GPU / Graphic card
4. Re-Start your PC, and this time go into normal mode and see if it works.
5. If it does, just re-install the video drivers.

See if that helps.

+1. I bet a hundred bucks it is a wonky driver of some type.

You might just want to back up your data and format your pc. It is a pain, but you shouldn't have any more troubles.

so I pretty much took out my GPU and used my onboard and it worked. I then put my gpu back in and then all of a sudden it started working as well without re installing drivers or anything so that has me a little confused.

I did a fresh driver install anyways with driver sweeper in safe mode just to be safe. Kind of weird how it all of a sudden started working just by switching to onboard and then putting the gpu back in.

Thanks for the help +rep
