Best waterblock for gtx 680

Thread Starter
so currently i have a gigabyte gtx 670 windforce 3x i would like to watercool it the parts i have picked out are feser tubing, xspc fittings, black ice gtx 360 rad, mips iceforce cpu block, laing d5 variable pump, and either the xspc 680 waterblock, the nickel plated heatkiller 680 waterblock or the copper heatkiller 680 waterblock i am just not sure which would be better thermalwise between the xspc and heatkiller but also what about corrosion or mixing of metals and plating issues, should i just not use nickel plated blocks, because i have seen the horror pictures of ek blocks

I don't see the reason for nickel plated blocks and have never bothered spending the extra cash.
I have had excellent performance from Danger Den blocks and EK blocks.

Of the ones you list I would get the Copper Heatkiller because your fittings plumb right into it. Less seals to leak (like the XSPC) and it should make it easier to use the slot below the gpu.

Your other pieces of gear are all solid choices. You should not need to worry about nickel and copper experiencing galvanic corrosion. aluminum and copper - yes.

if so then am i safe to use pt nuke and silver kill coils, because i have heard they don't react well with nickel plating because the cpu block is nickel plated as well

I don't know. I have always used Feser1 additive to de-ionized water.
I'm sure someone will pipe in within miutes to answer your question.

Nickel plating is use to prevent the progress oxidation.
I use a Koolance water block on my gtx680 and I have no complaints about it. I have a XSPC GTX670 water block as well and I have no issues using it.
I just use distilled water and silver coil for the 680 build and pt nuke with the 670. I have no problems with both builds.

If you use aluminum in you loop then you would have to worry about corrosion
