Quiet 120mm PWM Rad Fans - Page 3

I just bought a few of the Enermax TB Silence fans and they're great. I'm using them in a push-pull air cooling application, but they move quite a bit of air and are silent until 800-1000 rpm. Even maxed out at 1600 rpm these fans aren't bad, they have a sound profile that isn't annoying.

I have to recommend the Akasa Viper and Apache fans. Great static pressure and good flow. I also recommend use the Flexa for hooking up multiple PWM fans to a single header, and it gets its power for the fans directly from the PSU, they have Sata and Molex powered models.

Good editions, thanks goodtobe. Have you used and compared these to other PWM rad fans by chance?

I've got 10 vipers (push pull on a 3x120 and 2x120)-- I haven't owned any of the others you listed so I can't give you much of a comparison, but they're solid fans that are pretty quiet at low speed and can kick up fast when I need them to (though I never do. Aquaero 5 ftw)

Sorry for delayed response. But PWM fans, I have had 3 before I switched to Akasa. Coolermaster blademaster, and two fans that came with coolers that were PWM, one thermalake, other cant remember. But all 3 died, I think mainly because I used them horizontally. These Akasa fans have a bearing that can take being mounted like that, were as the others were sleeve bearings and cant take it. I just bought 1 of each, Apache and Viper, fans the other day, because Performance PCs had them for cheap(scratch and dent section lol). Which puts me to 3 vipers, and 5 apaches.

I also modded an Gentle Typhoon high speed fan(5200 RPM IIRC) for PWM control since the sensor it built in already. All I had to do was solder a wire to it lol. But I dont use it, it is scary sounding when it revs up, all I can thing about is my niece sticking her finger in it...

EDIT: as Traches said, Aquaero 5 FTW. Adds another dimension to your build. But can cost two arms and a leg if you go crazy and buy everything lol.
