It will get there, but it takes time.
Remember that it is still a 8.3MP monitor, while 1080p barely breaks 2MP ..for the kind of hardware will be needed to drive such resolutions to become mainstream and start driving prices down with it, a lot of time is needed.
+ no available movie content @ those resolutions, i.e. it caters for a very specialized market - and it is not gaming.

Thing is, I think the current top end hardware could handle that resolution at medium settings on most games. I mean you definitely wouldn't need AA at that pixel density. Also, multigpu setups are able to drive multiple monitors with AA at this time.

A bigger thing too look forward to is really nice sharp text. Especially for coding.

Price really isn't all that bad for what it is. Surprised they made a 4k screen so small though.

You know those IPS Korean 1440p monitors are only like 300-350 on eBay right? Thats affordable as hell

How does a 35mm frame rate as the "industries thinnest"? The generic and cheap LG monitor I'm looking at right now has a 25mm frame. Do they mean amongst 4k res screens? Well whoopdy do.

4 x Catleap. 5120 x 2880. $1400. Wait a minute. I feel like I'm getting scammed...

Edit. Forgot. That also would make a 54' display. rolleyes.gif

$5500, that was about what I was expecting. I just may have to get one of these. Unless they ruin it with horrid pixel response times and/or input lag.

4K at 31.5" would be a pretty epic picture. I figure my system in my sig could run it fairly decent. I can get 130+ FPS on my current 1440 display which is 3.7m pixels. The 4K screen is 8.3m, or about 2.27 times as many pixels, so I should still be able to hold a min of 60 FPS on this 60 Hz screen without changing anything.

The killer thing about this screen is of course not having to deal with the Eyefinity/Surround nightmare and associated SLI/crossfire problems on multi-monitor setups, single monitor connection (DP) and of course the killer PPI on one contiguous screen surface with no bezels to worry about.

Sorry but that's about as 4k ready as a 1336x768 is Full HD ready.
4k is 4096 x 2160 or 4096 x 2304 (16:9)

I understand the difficulty with the aspect ratio and downsampling 1080p on true 4k, but don't market this falsely.
