You guys really need to choose your words wisely.
I've just moved from a 1055T to a 2500K a couple of weeks ago and noticed zero differences. I only moved over because my little brother wanted a competent budget rig and I like to upgrade.
In the two years I had that set up, it gamed like a monster, encoded like a monster, ran cool, and never failed once. Please, do tell how this isn't a 'competent performance CPU'?
Just because AMD are not winning the performance race, does not mean to say they don't release competent processors. An AMD processor can do everything an Intel processor can, sure it may be miles behind on synthetic benchmarks, but for real world applications you would struggle to find much of a difference. They also have an excellent price : performance ratio for their CPU's.
I'm absolutely sick of people expressing stupid opinions simply because AMD fail to keep up in synthetic benchmarks.
