Ok,

So have you bought those parts already? If not ditch the 680 and go with a 7970 GHZ edition.

You do not need 1200w of power, even the 850w is excessive.

I'd go with the ax750w if you really wanna stick with corsair, or the seasonic x750 is epic

why?, amd drivers are crap.

and to OP stick with nvidia drivers are much more stable plus the 680 is faster and most games run better on nvidia anyway. and 1200 watts is way overkill i suggest the seasoniq platinum 860 watt is has 7 year warranty has single rail which is important for overclocking and overall a very rock solid brand here is the link for you to check it out

The 12.11 drivers are epic and no, the GTX doesn't actually outperform the AMD cards,

http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/618?vs=555

That's with the old drivers which didn't give the performance boost, with the new drivers i'm afraid yes, the GTX will be beaten around :-(

860w is overkill as well for a single card solution, he would seriously be better off with a 750w or even a 650w psu.

well i stand corrected but i still say nvidia has significantly more stable drivers than amd does and i used to be a big amd fan so i got tons of experience and the 12.11's gave me and 2 of my friends BSOD constantly or it would just lockup randomly doing nothing. and yes i know 860 watts is overkill but it also allows for adding a second card in the future and allows overclocking headroom.

Agreed if he's going to be adding the second card.

I'll be honest mate, I used to be an nvidia fanboi, I loved my 570's, but AMD really have done a number on this card. Also for they are cheaper than the 680s

bear in mind though, for folding there is no competition, nvidia all the way.

well i guess it can go either way from what i seen they trade blows and the 7970 isn't that much cheaper only like 10-20 dollars. depending what brand you want.

Thank you guys smile.gif

By the way i forgot o mention that i allready have those parts with corsair AX850W Gold which im plaing to returnt it cause off whine coil....
i have a question. When im gaming or even at benchmarks (kombustor ect) while my gpu is in full usage 99% some times it dips at 80-85% for a second and then it goes at 99% again. When this happens im hearing my PSU making this sound (whine coil)....

By the way i choose nvidia cause of the drivers, 3D vision, and... well i like nvidia better tongue.gif no offence AMD fans smile.gif

That's a perfectly fine comment mate biggrin.gif it's your machine biggrin.gif

Ok, so this coil whine, do you get it when you enable V-sync? It might be from the GPU instead.

Oh btw, your GPU will be at 100% during benchmarks since that's what it's meant to do, as for the gaming side of it I'm assuming you've got your eye candy turned right up. The GPU is going to be processing, I'd be more worried if it wasn't at 100%

hmm that sounds like somethings wrong id return the PSU asap and see if you can borrow one from a friend or something and see if it still does it.
