Thats the fifth time you have made up your mind. Do yourself a favor, and take what everyone here says with a grain of salt. Some people only recommend the brand they currently have in order to make themselves feel better about their purchase. That goes for both AMD guys and Intel guys.

Some people also have money to piss away on overkill systems for gaming, and think the rest of us do as well.

The plain and simple fact is AMD is perfectly fine for gaming, gaming mostly relies on your GPU, so if your not being bottle necked your fine. Fanboys claim or act like if you get AMD you will have massive lag in games. That is just ignorant. I have owned the best of both brands and When I am in a FPS I never noticed a difference. Thuban, Vishera, Ivy, Sandy are all great chips and are fine for gaming.

Only if your doing more than just gaming should you look at all those synthetic benchmarks.Ans when you do Its funny how alot of Intel fanboy's will ignore the benchmarks where Vishera will do better than 3570K and even sometimes outperform a 3770K, I think thats a great accomplishment, but Intel guys will still act like the processor is trash, why?

^ best comment so far. Fair and simple smile.gif

At the end of the days chips vary, there is no one all mighty chip that beats all. No chip is perfect. As said both chips are good in their own little ways. Both are capable.

Do the people that say most games don't use more than 4 cores have more than 4 cores? First of all most games doesn't matter. Question is does the games you play or will play use more than 4 cores.

Right now all I play is COD;BO2 and I know that uses all 6 cores. It doesn't always sit at 100% like my graphics cards, but it's pegged at 100 to start and fluctuates up to it in game.

the thing is 99% of games are two-threadded and only a few with "good" engines utilize more than 4. that's the only reason why AMD is lagging with gaming in the first place. if all games supported more than 4 threads then it doesn't matter if you have intel or amd coz both will perform exactly the same. the reality the vast majority of games are still two-threaded and it won't change anytime soon.

Most modern AAA FPS titles are using 6+cores Black ops 2, crysis 3, BF3, Warefighter, Crysis 2. So I don't know where you get the 99% figure from source?

ASUS support says this is normal that motherboard allocates some RAM to handle AM3+ CPU

How does it go on your motherboards?

Guys i want to be future proof. i to be honest i dont think a quadcore will be that good for gaming the next few years, look at frostbite engine. and intels curent 6 cores cost 1000 dollars converted from my currency here. I dont know what to do...

Intel hexacores are for epeen and benching lol. What you want is solid IPC and the ability to run high frequencies with controllable heat output.

Well bro Intel is a beast. I love Intel, but for you it makes sense to stay and rock a 8350. Going to Intel you would be investing alot of money for a chip thats marginally better in gaming but loses in multi threaded performance. Ask the guys with the 8350's and heavy hitting GPU's if their happy in the vishera owners club. I bet they say they are super happy with it.

It only makes sense to put a amazing 8350 in that amazing sabertooth you have and rock some games. As I stated most modern FPS games are using 6+cores. Black ops 2, crysis 2, crysis 3, BF3, war fighter, Im willing to bet BF4 as well too. Pull the trigger on it already, end this madness!!! lol biggrin.gif

8350 and 7970ge owner here... get 100% usage in games @ 1080p and I've got a decent OC on the card (1225 core / 1600 mem vs 1050 core 1500 mem). No bottlenecks here thumb.gif

8350 was a nice bump over my prior 8120
