Show us where you saw them doing better than the G.Skill which is the other options being asked here..........Or is it just because you wouldn't pay and extra $38 to go for something that everyone knows they're better you wouldn't buy 'em?

CM2X1024-6400C4 6404v1.2 0620097-1 = Micron, 64Mx8, 2-667 CL5, Rev D

He listed the CL4 version
See the pic and it clearly shows: V2.1 (XMS6404V2.1) which are PROMOS. Dominator with PROMOS are better than G.Skill with D9s......way to go boredom. Only the 1066 (Rev 1.2) and 1111 (Rev 1.1) have D9s Rev D which is what G.Skill have.

Quote:
for Buffalo You claiming they don't use D9's anymore is nothing more than speculation, so unless you have evidence you should stop claiming so
Do you own a set and seen the ICs yourself? AFAIK, the 4-4-4-12 have D9s while the 5-5-5-15 don't and it's posted in buffalo site where their DDR2 800 is CAS 5 and not 4 (as it perhaps used to): Here is the Bufflo site and list for DDR2 800 CAS 5. Where do you see CAS 4?
I'm not claiming I'm going by what they're posting.

And let me guess this straight, after you've been recommending left and right to people to get buffalo, you're not even have 'em at the top of your list? cry wolf!

I've said several times why I went and tried G.Skill before, if you think I'm going to recommend a product just because "I red XS", you're absolutely W-R-O-N-G. I didn't know nor trusted G.Skill from the beginning and for the longest I used Corsair and was only recommending Corsair but guess what? Once you know and experience what Corsair is doing, it's not even worth considering nor buying for me anymore. And yes, once some idiot said I was a Corsair Fanboy, so what gives?

Why I and several other people are not recommending Corsair? Because they know what G.Skill are capable of, and not because they're fanboys. And now You and several other people have seen that your choice uses PROMOS ICs not like you "think" they used Micron.

Why wouldn't I discredit a bad product? Or something that does not perform as good as.......? I don't see why not pay the extra cash for something that is better, don't you? Or you just agree that PROMOS are better than Micron.

After all you said you're going for Team Xtreem, I'm pretty sure if I didn't have the G.Skill, I would have had those Xtreem modules myself, as I asked Tanguys back in Sept. about them because I also red about them at XS but......the G.Skill rep got my answer faster than I could order the Team Xtreem and I'm glad I did get the G.Skill.

Have the last word boredom, I made my point.

You want me to show you that non-binned D9GMH from one brand performs the same as non-binned D9GMH in another? o_O

Read the chart again, all the Dominator's carrying PROMOS are at CL5, the CL4 Dominator's carry D9GMH and in noway did I ever claim Promos were better than Micron

They had it at CL4 but switched it a few days ago, point still remains though that they carry D9

They aren't available up here and the Team are the cheapest

It seems you have replaced Corsair with G.Skill because I provided plenty of examples before of the Crucial 10th Anniversary sticks performing just as well as the G.Skill HZ and you ignored it claiming that because one person wanted, not needed, active cooling that G.Skill was automatically better. That is text book fanboyism

Again Promos is not better than Micron and I never claimed it was, stop putting words in my mouth. I'm arguing against paying more for the same, not paying more for better. Still waiting on your proof that the G.Skill HZ is the best available =)

This is the part that you're completely out of the blue here........it's not LATENCIES that Corsair determines their RAM for but Version, just like OCZ, 1.1=TCCD, 1.2=TCC5 and so on.....I have TCC5 2-2-2-5 whereas the same OCZ TCCD are also 2-2-2-5 except one is V1.1 and the other is V1.2.

Now what part of that picture where it shows XMS26404v2.1 (which are PROMOS ICs) don't you understand?. I don't need to look at the chart that you posted, it's right there and you can see it as well.
So you're mistaking PROMOS for Micron......and again, it's not LATENCIES but RAM's version.

After all the thread title for that link is: IC Inquiry Thread, not Latencies inquire for ICs. Again, V2.1 = PROMOS ICs. Not CAS 4 = D9 or CAS 5 = PROMOS.

My XMS2 DDR2 675 are CAS 4-4-4-12, yet, they are V2.1 with PROMOS ICs.

Quote:

Buffalo CAS 5-5-5- then you get to the vendors page Buffalo DDR2 800 CAS 5-5-5-. Where do you see the switch to CAS 4? And who has them that they're for sure theirs have Micron D9s? Know anybody or you're just saying?

Would the Owners of G.Skill DDR2 800HZ with active cooling please stand up?
Again, it's not fanboyism, it's a fact that those who use G.Skill RAM know, something you don't remotely have any idea at all. Crucial were good but NOT that good. And I didn't replace Corsair for G.Skill because of you........sorry but you seem to confuse me with someone that doesn't have or have owned DDR2 before and knows a little more than..............say.............

I see PROMOS with CAS 4, I also have a set of them.

You keep saying that the Corsair with CAS 4 version 2.1v with PROMOS ICs are better than the G.Skill RAM, just because of $40 less? Sure, people will get what they pay for.

Quote:
Still waiting on your proof that the G.Skill HZ is the best available =)
Let me begging with Salde, myself and the next 14 pages at XS.

Actually the Dominator DDR2 1111 are the best because they're the V1.1 which are Micron Rev D, a.k.a. D9GMH and are handpicked but who is going to shell out $600 for that? Certainly not you nor everybody else here.

I concede, you're right about the numbering =/

When I first linked to the page, about 1 week ago, they had them at 4-4-4. Even though they changed it to 5-5-5 that doesn't mean they have switched from Micron to something else

Don't you get it? If the 2.4v G.Skill's in that thread at XS didn't need active cooling what makes you think those Crucials did?

You really like to resort to personal attacks don't you?

I'm saying the right Corsairs, the ones with D9GMH, aren't better than the G.Skill but equal to it

What about Team Group? Super Talent? Crucial? Geil? Patriot? What does G.Skill do differently that allows their D9's to do things these guys D9's can't?

Nasgul is right, go with G.Skill and it's not because I think they're better but because you have a chance of getting a pair of dominator's with Promos chips and you don't want that

Thread Starter
I also have yet to see evidence that the HZ D9GMH are the "best memory kit" on the market<--I'd like to see you prove that one =)

Well, a LOT of people use HZ and swear by it. Not many people use Dominator from what i've seen on here.

I am more than happy to spend the extra £££ if the HZ is gonna be better.

Basically it seems that some of the Dominator series is as-good-as the HZ, but some of it isnt.

So i'll see if i can get a hold of some HZ.

The £180 set is still £180. Thats because its DDR.
The £240 set is and has always been £240. Thats because its DDR2.

They are 2 different sets of RAM
