2yr warranty, and newegg reviews are usless.

You should see how it was shipped, no foam or anything, just wrapped in a anti-static bag and some plastic thing on each end in a cardboard box...lol. Rough shipping probably did it. Now I need to call Amazon and complain.

That's how my Hitachi's (the 1TB platter ones) were shipped to me from newegg. Shipping has gone down hill from just about everyone these days. Funny thing is my hitachi's didn't work (and made a lovely clicking noise) until I actually connected them to the sata ports on my mobo and formatted them that way (they wouldn't be recognized in external cases through esata or usb).

Sucks though about yours. Maybe it's a sign to go SSD only. tongue.gif

WD is 3 year. True about the reviews, you have to read a bunch of them to get any value from them

I have mine in a hotswap bay now, all my other drives worked fine in it. I'll give a manual hookup a go.

I think my hitachis came in a foam box from NCIX and they worked fine for me. I wish they'd use foam for my seagate. frown.gif

I can't I have too much data. The 2TB drives in my RAID 5 array are in my server for movies and backup (I have 5 drives atm...and only have 500GB of free space lol). I have a 1TB RAID 0 array that is nearly filled from photos and videos I made. Plus data recovery from SSDs is extremely hard in comparison to HDDs if something where to happen.

Both internal Seagate drives I've had were noisier than any WD, Samsung, or Hitachi drive I've owned by comparison. The laptop one had a nice habit of parking its head with a little *click* every half minute or so. rolleyes.gif

Haha, sounds like the opposite situation I have had with seagate drives. My 500GB 7200.12's are silent in comparison to my Samsung f3 and WD drives which humm uncontrollably. . My laptop has a WD blue that ticks every few seconds and is starting to get annoying...I need a replacement SSD soon.
