Also I found a new model "2720MDP" instead of 27Q-LED, they say it's a 2012 new reference, got any info on this?

The 2720MDP uses a 10 bit panel and hence supports 1.07 billion colors.

The 27Q LED uses an 8 bit panel but has higher brightness (420cd/m^2 vs 360cd/m^2).

Yup I noticed on the specs. Thing is, I don't need all those HDMI / mullti-input / speakers / what have you. I just want a monitor with a DVI port. Think I'l go with the 27Q if I go Korean. I'm a bit shy pulling the trigger on this stuff though (shipping from Korea, customs... ) but I guess it's the same for everyone. I live in France though, and the OP scared me... Guy paid 133 € in additional custom fees... France taxes like crazy. It would be nice if they can mark it as a "gift".

They will declare "gift" if you ask them to. But you can't fool the customs with 14kg very big package. The customs will probably want to see the receipt or ebay/paypal/credit card charge.

Anyone can send me a gift for free if he wants to, right? They want me to fake an invoice on a birthday present that my korean friend is sending me?

Anyway you're probably right, they must have their ways. That's the main thing restraining me from buying these korean monitors, when you add the insane amount of custom fees, suddenly it's much less interesting. I mean I throw a couple of bucks more and I can I buy a 1440p Asus or Samsung in my country, I'm 100% guaranteed not to have dead pixels / bleeding / etc. and I have a warranty in my country.... headscratch.gif

That's part of the price you pay for importing... If it's only a few dollars more, then go for the samsung/asus/whatever have you. You'll get better service and warranty terms. The one really good thing that these monitors have going for them is price - without it, then other mainstream monitors are superior offerings.

I do not know about France, but I know in Canada, gifts or not, there's a monetary limit on tax free. So >$60, then tax free; above that, applicable sales taxes will be applied (no duty for Canadians, woo!)

My friend has the CrossOver 27Q LED and I highly recommend it.

Excellent design and build quality. The white back and the design is really aesthetically pleasing.

The 1440p S-IPS panel is a huge difference coming from 1080p.

I just un boxed mine and hooked it up, I was afraid that It wouldn't work since I am using an old video card GTX 295, but it works flawlessly. I got a sketchy screen full of artifacts for a second when I extended the desktop across both screens with my regular asus 23" @ 1680 x 1050. then i let it go back to the setting with it on, then duplicated the desktop on both screens then made it my main screen then extended it and it all worked out. This is beautiful, bright as hell. all i have to do is look up the settings for it!

Thanks Cloudz for the excellent review & hints!

When using your rec color profile, do you suggest enabling EDID? (Extended Display Id Data under Display Color in CCC)

Cheers smile.gif
