H50 for OC'ing my 2500k

Thread Starter
I own an H50 with two Yate Loon D12SH-12's in a push/pull configuration. I got the cooler as a gift a long time ago, and I have no idea how well it performs.

From reading around this forum, I've seen a lot of conflicting opinions on the ability of the cooler.

Should it suffice for OC'ing my 2500k or am I going to have to shell out for a new cooler?

Since you have it, you should just use it. No point spending more money when that'll do what you need unless you planning on super high overclocks.

Thanks for the input. I'm definitely a fan of saving money, so I'd rather not make a frivolous purchase.

I certainly don't plan on any extreme overclocking. As I understand it, 4-4.5GHz is what I should expect from my chip.

You should be okay. The H50 has certainly provided me with many hours of cooling for my Quad core chips and even cooled my GTX 580 for a while as well (see link in sig).

Its a venerable cooler and since you already have, might as well give it a fly thumb.gif

Thanks for the response! I think I'll give it a whirl and see what I can do.
